Phnom Penh is where Cambodia's craft tradition meets a new generation of local designers. It is also where our own brand took its first steps, at a design fair in the city. Beyond the famous markets, there is a quietly growing scene worth seeking out if you want something genuinely made in Cambodia.

The markets: a starting point, not the whole story

The city's big markets are a great first stop for atmosphere and variety, from textiles to homeware. Just keep in mind that a lot of what is sold there is imported. Use the markets to get your eye in, then look closer for the pieces that are actually handmade locally.

Local design and craft fairs

The most interesting handmade design in Phnom Penh often shows up at craft fairs and pop-ups, where makers sell directly. This is exactly how Krama or Vichy began, at the CULT fair in Phnom Penh.
